rh.jpgI became involved with First aid in 1979 at BP Chemicals, Hull. I then joined the BP Division of St John Ambulance the same year, working with the BP First Aid Team.

I worked my way through the ranks within St. John Ambulance Brigade and became Divisional Superintendent for the BP Division, helping to launch the BP Cadet Division and the BP Badgers, in 1991 became an instructor in First aid at Work. I was promoted to Assistant County Staff Officer for Training; this involved instructing and organising Ambulance Training throughout Humberside until 1999 when I left the Brigade. I had recieved the prestigious award of Serving Brother with St. John (SBSJA) but currently I have No association with St. John.

Whilst at the BP Site, I became a Shift Medic in 1986, later becoming the site First Aid advisor and trainer. I liaised with the Health & Safety Executive and gained the licence to train the Site Shift Operators and Fire Teams to administer Medical Gases and Defibrillation.

Whilst with the First aid Team I along with my team members, won many first aid trophies and later became the trainer for the site first aid team, In 2001 I took early retirement and started up my training company called CasCare First aid Training, the name CasCare is the abbreviation of Casualty Care.

Since retiring form BP I have become a First aid Consultant & Trained BP sites in the “Challenge Workshop's”.

I have trained teams from Scotland, Shetlands, Norway, Holland, Hull, & Pangbourne Training site first aider's in realistic medical and incident situations.

Each year first aider's have benefited from my vast experience and winning trophies at the BP First Aid Challenges.

In 2005 teams from Holland, Shetlands, Pangbourne, & Hull won 9 from 11 Trophies at the Challenge.
